Was Oscar Nominee Keith Robinson Wearing a Steinhausen Watch?

The performance by Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, and Keith Robinson was phenomenal! They did a great job with all those wonderful songs. But something really stood out while I was watching the television last night.

It was hard to tell from the lighting and how little they showed Mr. Robinson on the screen last night, but the watch he was wearing looked a lot like the Steinhausen Marquise that he received from GBK Oscar event on Thursday and Friday. Even as I watch this video someone posted on Youtube, it is hard for me to tell if it is the Marquise or not. With about 1:50 seconds left in the Youtube video, you get the best look at the watch he’s wearing. Like I said, with the lighting, it’s hard to tell if it is the Steinhausen Marquise. What are your thoughts?

My Gravity Defyer Shoes are the best selling item of 2007! What many people don’t know is that one of the Gravity Defyer shoes is design by a very special person: my good friend Richard Thalheimer.

This design is also the best seller. As you probably all know Richard is the founder of Sharper Image. Richard is one man who revolutionized the world of innovation and amazed the world with his ingenious mind. He created the world’s largest retail chain of innovative products and toys.

I must admit that he was an inspiration and a mentor to me. As an inventor, it was my dream to have my invention and my products featured in Sharper Image. When I look back on my dreams of the past and see where I am today… Working with Richard is what I consider, the pinnacle of my career.

On of my most savored moments with Richard came during an evening outing in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show. I had dinner with Richard at the Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse, (the best steakhouse in Vegas I must say). After consuming one of the best meals and fine wine, we had made a bet on who would pick up the tab by the flip of a coin. Needless to say, I won the bet!

So Many Interviews at the CES

I had the privilege to be interviewed at the CES by AOL, Fox, BBC, and many other regional media. The one interview I was proud of most was by Dr. “Pink” Nat. It was refreshing to see that this remarkable woman who has a great passion for gadgets and innovations. She was a consultant to the American Inventor Show.

As this interview went on, she had shown such a broad knowledge not only in gadgets and innovations, but in the whole logistics of the making of products from the management side to marketing. Obviously, she loved all of my innovations, and the question that lit up her eyes for my answer was, “Alex, how do you come out with so many inventions and so many great ideas?”

My answer was simple. Dr. Blondie, every person is an inventor, and they just don’t know that. Any person, at any given time has come with the idea of a product that can enhance and benefit his or her lifestyle. The first innovation or gadget was actually a toothpick. I believe a million years ago the first man used this piece of wood to clean his teeth and that prehistoric man had the ability to create his own gadget. I have the same ability. I had the privilege to study mechanical engineering and have basic knowledge in health (I am an Army medic) and fitness.

But I also own offices and factories in China, Hong Kong and in Eastern Europe. I have a network of contacts and great relationships with engineers, industrial designers and I work with hundreds of factories. I have the ability to take that great idea and actually manufacture the product, which is what most people are missing.

Obviously, in the global market, you must make products that are beneficial to as many people as possible so you can commercialize the product or your innovation. So I also have a strong network and employee one of the best multi-channel marketing teams in the world. These young teams of marketers are innovators and they market the products in every channel possible.

Coming with new products is easy for me. Dr. Nat then asked, “If some person has a great idea of a product. What should she/he do with this idea? And how can he extend his idea from concept to actually making of a product?”

A FREE Pair of Shoes for You

I presented over 20 of my newest innovations at CES 2007, and the buzz for my products were beyond my expectations. But one great innovation was the star of the show: the Gravity Defyer Shoes. This shoe made the loudest wave throughout the show. It was the most unique since it was the only product in the show that did not require any batteries.

Many people had visited my booth and stood in line for the opportunity to try on these remarkable shoes. The initial reaction after slipping their feet into the Gravity Defyer shoes was “Wow!…unbelievable!…I got to get a pair.” I directed them to our Gadget Universe website and to the Skymall inflight Magazine and website as a resource to purchase the Gravity Defyer Shoes.

One young man who tried the shoes on was begging to take a pair of the Gravity Defyer shoes with him and he was willing to pay any price. He said that in his young age he was diagnosed with a tumor in his ankle so they shaved the bone and then implanted metal in to his foot. Since the implant, he said he had problems fitting any shoes and never felt comfortable walking with any shoes. Until he tried on a pair of Gravity Defyer shoes. Unfortunately, I told him we cannot sell shoes during the CES. When I saw how disappointed he was I told him but we can give it away to him as a present. The smile on his face made this show the best I ever had.

Become the Lord of Your Ring

I was interviewed by Richard Taylor with the BBC at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this month. He asked me, “As an innovator, what is your next innovation?” This question is probably the hardest one to answer because I am working on so many new projects and ideas. I have many new products in the pipeline so I decided to share with him one of my best ideas yet.

I am working on a special ring. A ring you can wear on your finger and I call it “U lord of your ring”. This ring is going to be programmable to hold all your personal information. It will be used as your credit card and ATM card. You will not need to pay cash or use a card at the grocery store or gas station anymore. Just wave with the ring and your are done! It will also be used as your driver’s license and passport so when you speed out of the airplane and out of the terminal you will not be stopped by customs. And when you speed on the highway then you can get your speeding ticket while driving (ahhhhh…maybe not).

This magic key can be used as a key for your car/home, it will have the capability to turn on your lights at home, and it will also be your phone/PDA. It will have a hologram screen popping up to manage, sort, and page through all your contacts. The part I like the most about this ring is that it will also be used as your personal computer and connected to satellite. It will have the most amazing security feature. A holographic monitor that ONLY with special contact lenses or glasses will be viewable by your eyes only!

You will be able to access any book online or receive your email at any given time. The hologram will be a touch screen where you can turn pages by waving your hand. You will be able to make two way video call with any one or listen to any song you wish.

Richard could not wait to find out when this device was coming out. He impatiently asked, “When is this U lord of the ring going to be ready?”

I answered, “I’m working on it right now. It will be ready within the next 10-15 years.” We both had a good laugh. I had him going for a while. Hey! I have limitations too.
